Larry McDougall coached at Dauphin Regional Comprehensive Secondary School for 32 years. During that time, he established the basketball program as one of the best in the province. He
coached the Clippers to three MHSAA Provincial ‘AAA’ Varsity Boys Championships, 1975, 1976 and 1980, and one ‘AAA’ Varsity Girls Provincial Championship in 1987.

He was known as a true leader and someone who cared deeply about the game of basketball and the people playing it. It was said that he did everything in a positive way and his composure
built great confidence in the players. His reputation for patience and for building relationships with players set him aside from many of his peers.
